Love International Inc.
Eligibility and Conditions of Appointment

1.  Must be at least 21 years of age.

2.  Expected to commit the time required to perform board duties. Minimum time commitment is on average 5 to 15 hours per month. Committee membership may require additional time commitment. 

3. Must be able to fulfill the requirements and responsibilities of the Board of Directors – for example, preparing for and attending meetings, upholding fiduciary obligations, and working cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues. Must comply with legislation governing the organization, the organization’s by-laws and policies, and all other applicable rules.

4.  Board members must sign a declaration confirming their agreement to adhere to their fiduciary duties, board and corporate policies.

​5. Love International Inc. is a faith-based nonprofit organization whose mission is: Love One Another As Jesus Loves Us.  John 15:12.

As a member of Love International Inc., your organization: 

A. Agrees that use of membership benefits and services is limited to an organization’s current staff and current board members only.

B. Agrees that your membership fees accurately reflect the current operating budget of your organization. Accurately declaring your operating budget ensures that we keep membership accessible to as many organizations as possible. This information must be kept up to date every year upon renewal.

C. Agrees to give credit for any work, templates, or other resources developed by Love International Inc. or any other member organization that your organization accesses and/or modifies to help you do your work.

D. Agrees not to use Love International membership or the name of Love International Inc. any illegal or unethical activity, including false claims of endorsement.

E. Agrees not to engage in any practice which is in violation of local, provincial or federal laws and regulations or is considered to be illegal or unethical.

F. Agrees not to abuse the name, logo, or programs of Love International Inc. for personal or organizational profit, gain or benefit, nor shall they allow Pillar’s name, or logo to be used by others in a manner deemed to be inappropriate by Love International’s Board of Directors.

G. Agrees not to discriminate against other members of Love Interternational Inc. or the community on the basis of race, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability and all other classes protected under applicable laws.

H. Agrees to be respectful and empathetic of others, even if opinions differ.

I.  The Term of your Board Membership is three years with the option to renewal or the majority of the board members unanimousely vote not to renew your membership.  Membership also ends when the member dies, resigns, is expelled, or the corporation closes down.  All rights of membership end when membership is terminated.

J.  Violations of the Code of Conduct and Remedies.  Violation of Love International's code of conduct or its governing bylaw, may have consequences ranging from a verbal or written notice and warning, to suspension, or revocation of membership and its benefits. More than two written notices of violations, or any criminal behavior, will result in an immediate suspension of all memership benefits while an investigation is undertaken.  In such an event, the member shall not be refunded any membership, registration or other fees.

L. Acknowlegment:  I hereby acknowledge that I have read Love International Code of Conduct in its entirely, and I understand that should I contravene any of the above provisions, Love International Inc. has the authority to offer guidance and/or take action, up to and including terminating membership with the organization.  It is required that all Board of Directors of an organization read and undestand the Code of Conduct.  Each board member will be held accountable for upholding the values set forth in these documents.  Thank you for helping us create a welcoming, inclusive and safe for all.
